Compliance posture
Zero retention
HDR Compass is built so we do not become a second repository of your clients' case papers. Case files stay in firm storage; only the text needed for analysis is sent, under your key, to the AI provider you choose.
No upload API, no case-data database
There is no endpoint on our infrastructure that accepts case documents, and no table that stores them. The app reads and writes through your browser against firm-owned storage. We are not a second repository of your clients' papers — architecturally, we cannot be.
Files stay in firm storage
Connect a local or synced folder in Chrome or Edge. Every read and every export happens under the firm's control. Microsoft 365 Graph is on the roadmap and will keep the same boundary: the firm's tenancy, the firm's consent, the firm's data.
BYOK AI — your key, your provider, your control
You supply the provider API key (OpenAI, Azure, Anthropic, or a local model). Prompt bodies and document text travel from your browser directly to the provider you chose. HDR Compass does not relay, log, or train on them. Revoke the key and the capability stops. Provider-side handling (including any training defaults) is governed by the contract and DPA you hold with that provider — the app's BYOK page walks you through it.
What we do hold
Organisation accounts, seats, subscription status, and the acceptance records you asked for at sign-up. That's it. No prompts, no reports, no extracted text, no file names, no analytics over case content.
Your rights, in the app
Export your account data as JSON (GDPR Art. 15) or delete your account in place (Art. 17) from Settings — no email chase required. Erasure removes your profile, invitations and organisation records, and the auth account itself.
Advisory only
Outputs support fee-earner judgement. The solicitor remains responsible for advice, filing and conduct decisions. Exports record who confirmed and when, so the human-in-the-loop is auditable, not assumed.
